The D2D Program consists of 3 parts: inquisitive dialogues, taking actions and ongoing scientific research. Below is a description of the setup.
Three 90-minute dialogue sessions in small fixed groups with two permanent moderators. A dialogue session takes place every four weeks. During these sessions, various (dialogical) methods reflect on your own experiences with social safety. During the last session, we will also discuss the initial ideas and insights about what is needed to improve a socially safe working and learning climate. The conclusion of this phase and the transition to phase B will take place during the feedback meeting in which the preliminary findings and insights based on the dialogue sessions are presented to the entire department. The duration of Phase A is approximately 3 months.
Carrying out and evaluating actions jointly as a department/team. After the three sessions, the focus is on developing and implementing actions to promote social safety in the workplace in a sustainable way. After phase A, a working group will be started with interested employees with a diverse group of employees from the department that is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating the actions. The duration of Phase B is approximately 6 months.
Within the D2D program, qualitative and quantitative scientific research is carried out. This research has two goals. First, it provides direct feedback to participating teams about the progress and impact of the program, reinforcing their ownership and engagement. Secondly, it contributes to scientifically substantiating the results and lessons of the D2D program so that they can be shared with other interested parties in the field of social safety and ethics. Specifically, quantitative measurements are being done to identify the experiences and effects of the program. In addition, interviews are held afterwards to gather in-depth insights. Throughout the project, and in all scientific publications, the confidentiality and non-traceability of participants are key. The research has been reviewed by the Amsterdam UMC Medical Ethics Review Committee, and participation is completely voluntary.
The D2D Program is about co-creation. We are continuing to develop it together with employees, managers and other stakeholders so that it really matches the practices and needs of the teams.
